New safety systems available in 2024 include 5 new features:
1. Rear pedestrian alert. When the Traverse is in Reverse, it can alert you to detected pedestrians directly behind the vehicle. It should be noted that this feature has limited nighttime & low visibility performance.
2. Adaptive cruise control allows you to set a speed and automatically follow a detected vehicle ahead at a driver-selected following gap. If no vehicles are detected in front of you, this functions like regular cruise control.
3. Side bicyclist alert will warn you of a detected bicyclist that is approaching a side blind zone. In addition, this feature can also detect an approaching bicyclist for a brief time after parking, so you do not open your door on them.
4. Intersection automatic emergency braking can help avoid or reduce the severity of an intersection collision with a detected cross-traffic vehicle.
5. Lane keep assist with lane departure warning uses a brief steering wheel turn to alert you when it detects an unintentional drift out of your lane lines. This feature will not alert in the case of a turn signal being used, or if there is a detection of an intentional lane departure.
